REKHA RAO, FOUNDER

Rekha is the principal and founding member of Rao Legal Group, LLC. She is an attorney licensed to practice in NY & NJ and has developed her firm’s niche in the areas of estate planning, estate & trust administration, elder law, guardianships and special needs.

Her expertise spans across both domestic and international estate planning which allows her to ensure that clients effectively pass on their wealth and legacy to current and future generations.

She also assists the firm’s elderly clients with their Medicaid eligibility and as a Veterans Accredited attorney, she can help elderly veterans with their Veterans benefits to supplement a portion of their long-term care costs.

Rekha is currently a member of the New Jersey Bar Association – Real Property, Trusts & Estates and Elder Law Sections and the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey in which she had previously served as Secretary. Rekha is also a board member of the Community Options Advisory Board and the Plainsboro Library Board of Trustees.

Rekha loves to travel and play the piano and is looking forward to the day when her golf game and conversational French improves from newbie level to pro.


 

ASHLEY NASH, ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Ashley Nash is Rao Legal Group’s associate attorney. She manages our Estate Administration/Probate cases as well as the firm’s Medicaid and Special Needs Planning practices. Her sharp mind and calm demeanor makes her the right person to represent her clients and advocate for them to third parties. Ashley’s strength lies in preparing well researched legal memos and briefs on short notice.

A true “master-of-all”, Ashley can deftly juggle court related filings & ongoing communications with law clerks and financial institutions for the firm’s estate administration matters and also collaborate with Angie on all aspects of the Medicaid Application & Eligibility process. Ashley works with the Trustees of trusts and the required State Agencies to represent our clients (and/or their guardians) with Special Needs. As a regular attendee of Continuing Legal Education courses, Ashley is continues to build her skills on the substantive side of the law leading to improvement in firm’s client representation, client experience and risk management.

Her position as the firm’s Legal Research specialist as well as her prior experience with the Legal Services of New Jersey (where she assisted people with unemployment insurance claims), has helped shine in her current role.

Ashley graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011 with a degree in Comparative Media Studies. She went on to study law at the Georgetown University Law Center and the University of Amsterdam Law School. Ashley graduated from Georgetown with a Juris Doctorate in 2015.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys lifting weights and competes in powerlifting and strongwoman.


 

ANGELA TEW, MEDICAID SPECIALIST

Angela Tew (“Angie”) is the Medicaid Specialist for the firm. Because of her keen eye and extraordinary attention to detail coupled with a deep sense of empathy & compassion for the firm’s clients, Angie is the perfect person to represent our clients to Medicaid agencies. Angie handles all Medicaid crisis cases and is intimately involved with every file from start to finish. Once a client is retained, Angie is in constant contact with each and every one of them, sometimes on a daily basis while also communicating with Medicaid agencies. She reviews reams of paperwork that is collected prior to submitting an application for Medicaid benefits and along with the RLG Medicaid team, works tirelessly to try and get Medicaid approval for the firm’s clients. A superwoman that she is, Angie also assists with the firm’s Guardianship and Estate Administration matters and keeps a watchful eye on firm operations (her former role) to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Her past experience as a Client Relations Manager where she oversaw the firm’s entire operations from scheduling to initial screening intakes of new prospects, to assisting with proofreading and quality control of estate planning documents to close-out of each file, gives Angie the ability to see the total picture of a client’s case as it moves through the pipeline.

Angie has an associate degree in Elementary Education. She is an avid gardener, with a love of cooking and baking. Loves family, animals, nature and outdoors.
